If sending communication balloons into the stratosphere to circle the earth, then the Lodi Amateur Club is for you. Several of our members design, launch and track them, often in cooperation with other clubs in the area. Here are just of few photos taken in preparation of several launches followed by an informational video prepared by Brian Basura (N6CVO).

90 days ago we launched KB6USJ with the Calaveras hams and the Calaveras schools. The balloon has been around the world almost 3 times, went northward to the 80th parallel inside the auroal oval and is now in the Pacific circling between Alaska and Siberia at 42,000 feet. It will probably exit the Pacific tomorrow but we will see. I am unable to paste the track here but when I can, I will
The other two balloons were launched Tuesday mornining and are over Sweden at this time. One is under my call (wb6tou) and the other is under the call of John Koehler from Walnut Creek (NI6D)
All three of them can be followed using the website http://lu7aa.org/wsprx.asp and clicking on the call you want to see.
The 2 recent launches are testing a beacon being developed between the SF-HAB group and the San Diego group specifically to be programmable in PYTHON and targeting STEM project for kids.
