Dianna earned her Technician license (KO6AVO) in August of 2023 after 55 years of marriage to Keith (N7DXC). We met as freshmen in college. Being a nerd and still afraid of girls, I invited Dianna to the OSCAR 4 Operations station (W6EE) in Los Altos Hills for our first date. I was confident that the 5/9+ QSO with the West African station would seal the deal.

I’ve been licensed since 1961 and as active as family responsibilities would allow. That’s me in the center (WA6ZUA) in 1963 during Field Day operations on a mountain top off SkyLine Boulevard.
Our station includes the basics to rag chew and chase DX. A homebrew solar system keeps us operational during power failures. We joined the Lodi Amateur Radio Club to increase our knowledge of the hobby and prepare for opportunities to assist during emergency conditions.
