What the HEX is that?

Since 1895, when Marconi tapped out his first coded message, radio operators have depended on simple wire dipoles and verticals antennas. However, when possible, HAM’s like to kick it up a notch by placing as much conductive material as high as they can.

With this in mind, Lodi club member Skip, N6NFB, engineered an antenna system that allows one man to raise and lower a multi-band array known as a HEX beam. Last weekend a few of his friends gathered to examine and celebrate his achievement.
