Picnic Hams at Legion Park

Public parks offer hams radio operators a way to set up a small, portable station and practice communication strategies with low power and modest antennas. We started out at Salas Park in Lodi. Barry brought his loop and the gardeners brought their leaf blowers.

After stopping to grab some excellent mexican to-go-food from La Campana Tortilleria and Taqueria, we packed up and moved everything to Legion Park where we recovered our strength and reestablished ourselves.

As you can see from the featured photo, while Dale and Doug tuned for POTA (Parks On The Air) stations on 10 meters, David showed off his monster loop build (get a load of that capacitor) and Keith finished his pork quesadilla.
