I became a ham in 2015 and have been very involved in the amateur radio service ever since. My home FM station is comprised of a Kenwood TM-V71 dual band radio connected to a Comet GP-9 antenna. My HF setup at home is a Yaesu FTDX-1200 radio with a home brew end fed wire antenna. I also have a Motorola GTX radio for 900 MHz that is connected via hard line to a Comet KP-20 antenna. I maintain a modest collection of Motorola GP-68, HT1000, MTS2000, MTX9000, MTX-1500, and APX-7000 handheld radios which are in regular use at home.

My club affiliations are with Stockton-Delta Amateur Radio Club, Mount Diablo Amateur Radio Club, Calaveras Amateur Radio Society, and the Lodi Amateur Radio Club where I am currently serving as the club president. I also serve as the call sign trustee for the Lodi Amateur Radio Contest Club WB6HUM. Helping out new operators getting started in the amateur radio service is another part of this hobby that I really like. I have my extra class volunteer examiner certificate from ARRL and Laurel VEC. I am retired from my career in law enforcement after 40 years of service so I am usually on the radio every day. The majority of my time on the radio is spent on the local 2 meter repeaters, DMR, and Allstar. I monitor the Lodi ARC repeater 147.090 and frequent Brandmeister talkgroup 3100. For digital voice communications I operate a ClearNode, SharkRF Openspot 3, and a Zumspot. I’m very active on Allstar, DMR, and EchoLink.

Thanks for checking out my member profile page and I hope to catch you on the air or at one of the local club meetings very soon!
73!
Mike
