Bob Officer – N6TCE

n6tce@arrl.net

Long story, I was involved in a High School radio club circa 1968. I enjoyed working on the radios of that (tube) era. I studied electronics and construction techniques. I have a few older radios as projects.

Reentered the hobby about 12 years ago. My good friend, David , got me involved with Emergency Communications and Being a Volunteer Examiner. I have been a VE for over ten years and have worked as VE Liaison or Laurel VE Team Leader.

I retired from the UP Railroad in 2012, after 43 years as a locomotive engineer.

I enjoy SSB, FM Voice and Voice Radio, and field operations. I am a fan of club nets. They are the glue that holds the Amateur Radio Community together.

I would like to see more people involved with club activities. I enjoy contesting, both operating and running them. I also like special event operations.

I am married to Karen K6KSO. She is the best person in the world and seems to enjoy listening to the radio chatter as much as I do.

I am writing this on my 71st birthday.

My other hobbies are Photography and trying to learn to draw and how to carve wood. I do consider myself a fair photographer.
